This was a massive hit as most music videos were mostly just performance or narrative based but this video heavily relied on post production for the first time. There was also rotoscoping animating which means that in post production the recordings of the performance was then traced over and then made into bright neon colours which also found its way on to the album cover.
before 1986 where post production was heavily used Steve Barron he also directed Don't you want me by Human League which used famous actors and new filming techniques and methods including 35mm celluloid film. This gave a very new style of music video as a famous film actor was singing the song.
