Record Label Research

A record label is really useful in both the marketing and the production of music videos when bands are signed to them. It plays a vital part in handling the artists copyright usage and production value. Artists have generally been reliant on their record labels, using them to promote themselves on streaming services, radio and TV services. They also help in the selling of their merchandise and everything else that helps them gain positive media coverage.

One of these record labels is called RCA records, lots of famous artists (dead and alive) are signed to them such as Taylor Swift, Elvis Presley, Britney Spears and David Bowie. It is owned by Sony Music and is a subsidiary of the Sony Cooperation Of America. This record label covers all types of music genres such as electronica, rock, pop ect...Is the second largest record label in US history and is a flashship label for Sony.

In addition to this, a famous British record label is called Syco records, founded by Simon Cowell from the X Factor and Britain's got talent. Some of the most famous groups in the world (and contest winners) are signed to this label, including One Direction, Little mix and Fifth Harmony.
